I drove downtown to the Navy Pier today to admire the famous kissing sculpture “Unconditional Surrender” one last time at the USS Midway Museum. It’s a recreation of the famous photograph “V-J Day in Times Square.” Unfortunately, it’s being taken to New Jersey. Lame. They should leave it here in San Diego, we’re a military city with its own base after all. Bye, sculpture, downtown San Diego won’t be as beautiful without you.
